National Park Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes became National park in 1949. and it is the most famous national park in our country, Croatia. Plitvice lakes are unique miracle of nature which consists of 16 big and few small lakes that are situated on some kind of steps. A total of 16 lakes lying at different altitutes are separated by travertine barriers and linked by foamy waterfalls and cascades. Nature has left very beautiful treasure which consists of 14 caves, 1146 plant species, 140 species of birds, bears, foxes, wolves, wild cats and a lot of ther sorts of mammals.
A lot of tourists can take a tour on Plitvice lakes alone because there are a lot of bridges of wood, paths through forests, trains and boats. Jaques Cousteau has recorded everything on his famous trips. This national park is a piece of world unique beaty and it is under UNESCO's protection.


Seasons
Plitvice lakes shows us their beauty through the whole year. During the spring everything wakes up, waterfalls compete with fishes in jumping over barriers. You can see a lot of born birds in their nests and also hear their songs.
During summer forests and meadows show us their entire beauty and their green color makes that all the lakes look as turquiose meadows. It is so peaceful, natural and leaves us breathless.
Autumn offers us the whole pallette of color that nature can show us and the passionate photographers do not miss that.
Winter freezes all the lakes and waterfalls. Only foots in snow that animals have left discover that we are in the real world
